About Judy B. Freeman
The story of Judy B. Freeman, the artist, began at a young age. As an only child, Judy constantly found ways to occupy her time artistically. Discovering projects like batik and decoupage, she kept her parents busy. In college at Florida Atlantic University, Judy was introduced to ceramic clay and concentrated on creating whimsical sculptures. Judy received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in ceramics. After FAU Judy learned the art of throwing on the potters wheel at the Ceramic League of Miami. Further into Judy's artistic career she was introduced to polymer clay and now finds that it is the perfect medium for her whimsical sculptures. Judy has a trifecta of claims to fame. First, Judy was a featured artist on an HGTV show called That's Clever! It was a 7-minute spot on creating a whimsical ceramic cat bank. Second, Judy has 3 of her whimsical ceramic fish teapots in the prestigious Kamm Foundation Teapot Collection. And, lastly, Judy has whimsical polymer cat sculptures as part of the permanent collection of the Marietta Museum of Art and Whimsy in Sarasota, Florida. Judy wears a variety of artistic hats but the common threads to all of her work across media are vibrant colors and whimsical themes.
